1. What is oral radiology?

A: Regarding the type of contrasts you were given, barium is an oral contrast. you might or might not have the oral contrast for the other studies as oral contrasts are not needed to evaluate the liver. IV iodine contrast is the essential contrast to study the liver. So this can easily be a causative factor in the degeneration found, however, it is probably not the sole factor.
